OPTIMIZATION AND RECYCLING: CUSTOM SETS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY.

Challenge: our customer needed to optimize its production from an economic point of view while focusing on reducing the environmental impact of its production processes. Recycling post-consumer waste materials and its own production waste by reusing them in production of new products mainly dedicated to the world of construction.

Solution: In this specific case, we have developed two solutions for our client:

1. Extrusion Set: We have designed an extrusion set Ø 130 LD37, capable of effectively recycling post-consumer waste materials and internal production waste, mainly PP and PE. This system, designed to transform waste into reusable polymers, significantly reduces industrial waste and has improved various aspects of the plasticizing process compared to the previous set. The feature most appreciated by the client was the ability to use materials of different sizes and shapes without compromising the homogeneity of the molten mass, thanks to the dedicated HPE Recycling profile with mixer and barrier combined with enhanced degassing area. Additionally, although it was not the main objective of the project, we managed to increase the throughput by 18% compared to the original unit, a pleasant surprise for our client.

1. Injection Moulding Machine Set: Using the recycled polymers from the extrusion set, along with a PP filled with 10% FE, we have created a dedicated plasticizing unit Ø130 L/D22 that allows to use the recycled polymers in the production of new products, closing the recycling loop and promoting a circular economy while optimizing production costs.

Results: Thanks to these solutions, our client has managed to:
